Doing serious heart surgery yourself
Surgeon Simulator 2013 is a darkly humorous, over-the-top operation sim game that puts players in the shoes of Nigel Burke, a would be surgeon taking life into his own hands and performing life-saving operations on passive patients. Starting off as a prototype developed in just 48 hours at the 2013 Global Game Jam in January, this full Steam version comes with additional features, operations and environments that take operating to the next level.
About the game
The game places players in a number of unique scenarios, from carrying out terrifying transplants in theatre to performing surgical procedures in the back of an ambulance. The two key mechanics of the game are the clumsy and inappropriate tools players use to operate – which have to be used with precision– and a diabolical hand which has to be controlled using keyboard and mouse actions. These combine to create an engaging and challenging experience as players rush against time to complete their tasks with accuracy.
Features:
- There are five different operations available across three separate environments;
- Each environment has its own set of interactive objects (e.g. levers, drawers);
- There is also a hidden 'Easter egg' waiting for those who explore;
- Medical tools including forceps, scalpels, saws etc.;
- Realistic sound effects;
- Humoristic animations;
- Detailed graphics;
- Three levels of difficulty;
- Integrated achievements system.
