PDS (Planetary Data System) is a particular file format, a data system used by NASA for archiving data collected during their missions. Standard Windows tools cannot open such a file (or the opened file will be just unreadable text without any meaning), so special software is needed. NASAView is the best example of such software.

NASAView is a cross-platform program that has a version for Windows. It is a unique software for viewing PDS files. This application was built using the Label Library Light (L3), Object Access Library (OAL), and the XVT Development Solution for C package.
