If you have trouble adding subtitles to a video, simply include the subtitle file in the folder where the original video file is located. The subtitle file name should be the same as the video file name, except for the extension. To check if everything is OK, play the video file in MPlayer (e.g., using the Preview button). As a final step, don't forget to go to SUBtitles and select Auto as the subtitle source. Dpg4x relies on mplayer/mencoder to do its job, so any video file played by mplayer can be converted to DPG.
