An application for developers with a time-tested programming language

Pascal is a language that has been around for many years since its conception dates back to the late 1960s. Although its use has gradually declined over the years, giving way to other programming languages, you can still find integrated development environments (IDEs) focused on it. Such is the case with Free Pascal, for example.

Free Pascal is a Pascal compiler aimed at all programmers who still use that language. Thanks to its efficient debugger tool, it comes in handy for developing applications and fixing bugs in your code. On macOS, things are a bit more complicated: before installing Free Pascal, you must manually set the prerequisites; Lazarus/Free Pascal consists of three files.

More information

There are other platforms (e.g., other BSD variants) that more or less work, but there is currently no maintainer for them, so we cannot provide adequate support. Please get in touch with us if you want to change this and create and support versions for other platforms and purposes. Email addresses are listed below — the classic Pascal programming language for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

A programming language is an excellent tool for studying, complex mathematical calculations, entertainment, and many other valuable tasks. The app is handy for learning the Pascal programming language. Inside the app, you need to buy compilations. Requires an Internet connection — great programming tool in the AppStore. The programming language for iOS is excellent! The manual covers the installation of FPC 3.2.2 and Lazarus 2.2.0 on macOS BigSur. The procedure described here may not be applicable for older versions of Lazarus/Free Pascal or older versions of macOS.

Why should you download Free Pascal to Mac?

Installing Lazarus on the Mac is not particularly difficult, but it is essential to do the installation correctly. Skipping steps will almost certainly lead to weeping Yaroslavna. In a nutshell, here's what you should do: download and install Xcode, install the global command line tools for Xcode, install Free Pascal Compiler and FPC sources, install Lazarus, configure LLDB, the Apple-supplied (and signed) debugger from Lazarus.

The detailed instructions assume that your Mac has the latest version of macOS, the latest Xcode from Apple, and the latest version of Lazarus. At the bottom of the page, under the outdated documentation, you will see older information, which may be relevant if you use older components. You can help by replacing the obsolete information, either by removing it or, if it might help someone working with a legacy project, by moving it to the end of the page. We're generally talking about using the Carbon and Cocoa widget set.
