Cubasefor Mac
App info
Great app for musicians
Cubase for Mac is one of the most potent professional music editors developed by Steinberg. It has grown from a simple midi editor into a full-fledged virtual music studio. In Cubase, you can make a complete sound project. It allows arranging, midi editing, audio recording, and mixing the project into a wide mix with subsequent mastering. In the past, to go through all these steps, sound producers had to use external editors, such as Wave Lab or Adobe Audition.
Essential functions and features of Cubase
The standard Cubase package includes many VST audio plugins, which are very popular for the ability to control the music editing process through automation and the presence of many useful presets. Among them are virtual dynamics processing devices, frequency filters, and sound effects. Cubase comes with a set of VST instruments. You can control them, like real synthesizers or samplers, through traditional MIDI commands as well as by using automation data recorded on MIDI tracks in the form of envelopes. Interactive visual graphs of changes in specific parameters are also available.
Cubase package for Mac contains five virtual instruments: Embracer Surround Synthesizer and A1 Pseudo Analog Synthesizer: The virtual instrument of Embracer type is a polyphonic synthesizer (mostly it is recommended for pads) that can be used in stereo or ambient sound mode. Its polyphony consists of up to 32 types of voices. There are also two oscillators with twelve waveforms.
Samples of guitars, keyboard instruments, and drums
The VB-1 is a single-timbral polyphonic (4 voices) physically modeled synthesizer that simulates the sound of a bass guitar. It uses physical simulation algorithms that simulate the sound generation processes in real musical instruments. Due to this, the sound of the Vb-1 is really very similar to the sound of a real bass guitar.
Right below the image of the strings, you can see a magnetic pickup. It can be moved along the lines like a real plectrum depicted above them. The position at which the series is struck (plucked) and fixed by moving it along the rows. The timbre of the sound significantly depends on the status of these two elements. The Shape control sets the nature of the pinch. The Damper control function sets the damper lift, while the Vol adjusts the overall volume.
The monologue is a single-voice pseudo-analog physically modeled synthesizer, a monophonic analog synthesizer simulator. There are also two oscillators with sawtooth, square, and triangular waveforms, two filters (high-pass and multi-mode) white noise generator, two envelope generators (ADSR), a two-dimensional panel to manage parameters in real-time, LFO, and multiple audio effects (chorus, overdrive phaser, delay, flanger), etc.
Should I download Cubase for Mac?
Many sound producers enjoy working on Mac-based Pcs. For processing audio tracks and VST instruments, they can easily use VST plugins that are also included in the Cubase distribution package.
Music engineers can also use a 12-voice drum machine with 24-bit samples. Besides, there is the Lm-7 which comes with six drum sounds. By default, a bank of three kits is loaded (Fusion, DrumNbass, Modulation) from computer memory.
