How Many Spider-Man Movies Are There?

As of today, there are six Spider-Man movies that have been released. The first was the 2002 film simply titled Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. This movie was followed by two sequels: Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007. In 2012, Andrew Garfield took over the role of Peter Parker for The Amazing Spider-Man which had a sequel released in 2014 before Sony Pictures announced an agreement to work with Marvel Studios. 

After this collaboration began, Tom Holland started playing a younger version of the character in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 which then led to two solo movies – 2017’s Spider-man Homecoming and 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. The Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire Series

The Marc Webb/Andrew Garfield Series of Spider-Man is an iconic film series that follows the story of Peter Parker, who, after being bitten by a genetically altered spider, gains superhuman abilities. Directed by Marc Webb, this series stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and contains some of the most beloved Spider-Man movies to date. The order of this series goes as follows:

  2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
  3. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
  4. Venom (2018) 
  5. Morbius (2021 – forthcoming)

In Infinity War, Peter joins the other avengers in their battle against Thanos. In Endgame, he teams up with Iron Man and the others to defeat him once and for all.

Into The Spiderverse follows Miles Morales as he discovers his spider powers and embarks on a mission to save his city from an evil threat. Finally, Venom is about Eddie Brock’s transformation into a powerful symbiote who battles with Carnage to protect innocent lives. 

Through these six films, fans were able to witness Peter Parker become the amazing Spider-Man they know and love, while also learning more about different Spider-Man characters, such as Miles Morales and Eddie Brock.
