Save the story to your phone or archive

Once you have the story up on your Instagram profile, you can save it to your phone or archive it.

  2. You will see a menu where you should select “Save”. It will download the image or video to your device for later viewing. To archive your story, go back to your Instagram profile page and click on your profile picture in the top-left corner. 
  3. Then select “Story Settings” under “Your Story”. Here you can find all of your stories listed and can choose to archive them if desired by clicking on “Archive” next to each story.

This will save the video directly in the device’s camera roll. 
  • Android users have multiple ways of downloading IG videos for free. One is by using a browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox, and copying the link of the video from Instagram. This can be done by tapping on the “Share” icon located on the top-right corner and selecting “Copy Link” option. The user can then paste that link in the address bar of the browser, press Enter, and it will open the video in a new tab. From there, they can right-click on the video and select “Save Video as” to save it. 
  • Downloading IG videos on Mac is easy with the help of third-party apps, such as 4K Downloader. All users need to do is install this app on their computers and follow the instructions given there. They can then paste the link of the IG video in question and click download to start the process. 
  • PC users also have a variety of tools available for downloading IG videos from Windows 10 devices. One popular way is using an extension called “video downloader professional” which can be added as an extension in Chrome or Firefox. Once the extension is installed, users can navigate to the IG video they want to download and click on the “Download” button which will appear in the top-right corner of their browser window.
