How do I install Windows 11 on unsupported processors?

You have the option of installing Windows 11 on a PC that has an older processor. There is no need to reformat the drive, erase files and write the ISO to USB.

When the computer shows the message “This computer does not meet Windows 11 system requirements” and “The processor is not supported for Windows 11”, use a safe registry hack that fixes the situation.

There are 3 ways to fix the situation.

Download Windows 11 ISO

Download ISO. This method doesn’t work with the Windows 11 installation assistant, and it also doesn’t run Windows Update or the Microsoft PC Health Check.

  • Select Download Windows 11 disc image (ISO).
  • Now open the Select Download drop-down list.
  • Choose Windows 11 – Download.
  • Next, choose product language – Confirm – 64-bit Download.

Edit the Windows registry to bypass the processor check

  • Click Start and type regedit – Enter – Registry Editor will start. Now go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup.
  • Click on New – DWORD (32-bit) Value in the right pane and indicate “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU.”
  • Double click on the created value and enter 1 in the Value data field – OK – close the registry editor.

Open the ISO in Windows Explorer to start Setup

After downloading the ISO, right-click on the image to select Open with – Windows Explorer to mount the virtual disk – double-click on the installation file to start the installation.

Now the registry hack should work, and the user will see a warning instead of a failure message, which means the user can install Windows 11 and not lose data.
