Human: Fall Flat
About Human: Fall Flat
Wibbly wobbly goodness
Human: Fall Flat is a puzzle game emphasizing realistic physics where the player controls a character named Bob. The entire game is a series of Bob's dreams. Each dream must be completed by solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles. Bob has only himself in his arsenal, body, and arms. The game is primarily designed to have fun together.
What is this game?
The game is set in the imagination of the protagonist. As his partner in cooperative mode, he has to pass through thematic locations, such as a medieval castle, an Aztec stronghold, a power plant, a neon city, and other unusual worlds. Imagination has no limits, so that everything can happen in Human: Fall Flat ! Even falling from a height won't be fatal because it is impossible to die in your sleep.
Gameplay
You have to control a clumsy character that can barely even move around, constantly stumbling and dancing! However, you have to perform tasks and solve puzzles to get to the exit of the location.
The gameplay of Human: Fall Flat is a lot of fun. You probably won't be able to grab an object immediately, but that's the funniest part: you won't keep from smiling while watching how the character falls to the ground after tripping over a bump or pulls up on his hands at the edge of an obstacle.
Many mechanisms are available in the game, including cars to drive, levers to push, catapults to load the protagonist into, and many other objects available for interaction. Various interesting puzzles can be solved differently if you are clever enough.
Cooperative mode
This project is not very suitable for single-player mode. Compared to cooperative playing, you won't be bored but lose much fun playing solo. Human: Fall Flat has local (in split-screen mode) and online (for 8 players) multiplayer modes, and they're incredibly addictive! You'll be pushing and hindering each other, fighting and trying to achieve your goal through mishaps and ridiculous falls.
You can customize your avatar to make it different from the others: ready-made costumes and various elements of clothes can be used to change the character's appearance. You can also draw any picture of the avatar's body.
Conclusions
Human: Fall Flat is an unusual and exciting game. Almost everything here, from the control of the hero to the movement of carts with stones, is well-thought-out. Traveling between locations is virtually unnoticeable because each successive level is loaded as Bob falls through the door. Unfortunately, Human: Fall Flat is very short, so you won't be able to enjoy it to the fullest. This disadvantage is compensated by non-linear passing through locations, but it is not enough. There are almost no puzzles. However, breaking walls with available objects, shooting from a catapult, or breaking the bars in prison with a lever are very interesting.
